The average age of boys is twice the number of girls in a class . If the ratio of boys and girls in the class of 36 is 5:1, what is the total age of the boys in the class

total students = 36
ratio if boys to girls = 5 : 1
sum of ratio = 6
number of boys = 36 × 5/6 = 30
number of girls = 36 × 1/6 = 6
average age of boys = twice the number of girls
= 2 × 6 = 12
so the total age of boys = no of boys × average age
=30 × 12 = 360
