Original population = 25 lakh

Increased population = 28 lakh

Increase in population = 28 lakh - 25 lakh

                                     = 3 lakh

Rate of increase = increase / original × 100%

                            = 3/25 ×100%

                            = 3 × 4 %

                            = 12 %

The rate of increase is 12 %
