Given, Average Present age of Dev and his son = 54

Ratio of their ages today = 23:13

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Total age of Dev and his son today is = 54 * 2 = 108

Ratio of their age is 23:13

or, 23/36 = 13/36

Age of dev = 23/36 * 108 = 23 * 3 = 69

Age of dev's son = 13/36 * 108 = 13 * 3 = 39

After 6 years their ages will be,

Age of dev = 69 + 6 = 75

Age of dev's son = 39 + 6 = 45

Ratio of dev to his son = 75:45

= 5:3

Hence after 6 years dev:son age ratio will be 5:3

Option (b) is the correct answer.

Let the co-efficient of ratios be X
then,
Age of Dev = 23X
Age of Son = 13X

Average =
 \frac{(23x + 13x)}{2}  = 54 \\  \frac{36x}{2}  = 54 \\ 18x = 54 \\ x = 3
Present age of =>
Dev = 23*3 = 69 Years
Son = 13*3 = 39 Years

After 6 years,
Age of Dev = 69+6 = 75 years
Age of Son = 39+6 = 45 years

Ratio will be,
 =  \frac{75}{45}  \\  =  \frac{15}{9}  \\  =  \frac{5}{3}
Ratio of Dev to his Son after 6 years will be 5:3
