let no of doctors is x and no of lawyers is y. sum of age of doctors be s and sum of age of lawyers be r.
therefore s/x = 35 r/y = 50
(s+r)/(x+y) = 40
35x + 50y = 40x+40y
5x = 10y
x/y = 2:1
