Number of students ( n ) = 50

Wrong Mean = m = 80

Wrong observation = w = 73

Right observation = r = 37

Required mean = [ mn + r - w ]/n

= [ 80 × 50 + 37 - 73 ]/50

= ( 4000 + 37 - 73 )/50

= ( 4037 - 73 )/50

= 3964/50

= 79.28
