<b>Heya mate. (^_-). Solution below.
====================================

♠ Let the consecutive numbers be x, x + 2, x + 4, x + 6 and x + 8.

♦ Then, their average,

= sum of observations/total observations

= x + x + 2 + x + 4 + x + 6 + x + 8/5

= 5x + 20/5

= 5(x + 4)/5

= x + 4.. [5 gets cancelled on numerator and denominator.

♦ But, given average = 61

→→→ x + 4 = 61

=> x = 61 - 4

=> x = 57

•°• The numbers are,

x = 57
x + 2 = 57 + 2 = 59
x + 4 = 57 + 4 = 61
x + 6 = 57 + 6 = 63
x + 8 = 57 + 8 = 65

♠ Out of them, 57 is smallest and 65 is largest.

♦ Their difference,
= 65 - 57
= 8

•°• Difference between highest and lowest number = 8.
