let x1,x2,x3,x4,x5,x6 be the 6 numbers whose avg is 12.
so, x1+x2+x3+x4+x5+x6=12*6
now if we subtract 2 from each:
x1–2+x2–2+x3–2+x4–2+x5–2+x6–2=96
=> x1+x2+x3+x4+x5+x6=72–12
=>x1+x2+x3+x4+x5+x6=60
therefore the avg of the 6 numbers=60/6
= 10
i hope it will help u
