Avg of 6 numbers= Sum/ 6

So, 8= Sum/6
Sum= 6*8= 48

Let the 7th number be x. So,

Avg of 7 numbers= Sum/7
10=48+x /7
70= 48+x
x= 70- 48
x= 22

7th number= 22

Answer:

The 7th term is 22.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : The average of 6 numbers is 8.

To find : What is the 7th number so that average becomes 10 ?

Solution :

The average of 6 numbers is 8.

i.e. \frac{\sum x_6}{6}=8

\sum x_6=48

Let the 7th number be 'x'

So, \frac{\sum x_6+x_7}{7}=10

\frac{48+x}{7}=10

48+x=70

x=70-48

x=22

Therefore, The 7th term is 22.
