The average of 7 numbers is 60. The average of the first three numbers is 50, while the average of the last three is 70. What must be the remaining number?

Average of 7 numbers being 60, the sum of the 7 numbers be (7×60) = 420.

Average of first 3 numbers being 50, the sum of first 3 numbers be (3×50) = 150.

Average of last 3 numbers being 70, the sum of last 3 numbers be (3×70) = 210.

Therefore, the remaining number

= Sum of 7 numbers - (sum of 1st 3 numbers + sum of last 3 numbers)

= 420 - (150+210)

= 420 - 360

= 60 .....(3) option
