Answer:

The average score of the rest of the students if the average score of 10 of the students is 61 is 49

Step-by-step explanation:

Average : \frac{\text{Sum of all observations}}{\text{total no. of observations}}

Since we are given that The average score of a class of 40 students is 52

So,  52 = \frac{\text{Sum of scores of 40 students}}{40}

52*40=\text{Sum of scores of 40 students}

2080=\text{Sum of scores of 40 students}

We are also given that average score of 10 of the students is 61

So,  61 = \frac{\text{Sum of scores of 10 students}}{10}

61*10=\text{Sum of scores of 10 students}

610=\text{Sum of scores of 10 students}

Now since sum of 40 students scores is 2080 and sum of 10 students scores out of those 40 is 610

So, sum of rest of 30 students score = 2080-610 =1470

So, average of scores of rest 30 students :

 \frac{\text{Sum of scores of 30 students}}{30}

 \frac{1470}{30}

 49

Hence the average score of the rest of the students if the average score of 10 of the students is 61 is 49
