Answer: 36

Step-by-step explanation:

(Tues+Wed+Thurs)/3 = 37

So, Tues+Wed+Thurs = 111.........................(1)

(Wed+Thurs+Fri)/3 = 38

So, Wed+Thurs+Fri = 114........................(2)

Given, Friday = 39

Subtract (1) from (2) -> Fri - Tues = 3

39 - Tues = 3

Tues = 36

Answer:

The temperature on Tuesday is equal to 36°C.

Step-by-step explanation:

Consider that average temperature of Tuesday = x °C

Average temperature of Wednesday = y °C

Average temperature of Thursday = z °C

Average temperature of Friday = a = 39°C

We have given, the average temperature of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday is equal to 37°C.

\frac{x+y+z}{3} =37

x+y+z=111                                                                     .................(1)

We have also given,  the average temperature of Wednesday, Thursday and Friday is equal to 38°C.

\frac{y+z+a}{3} =38

y+z+a=114                                                                    ..................(2)

We have the value of a= 39, put in above equation (2);

y+z+39=114

y+z =75^oC

Put the value of (y + z) in equation (1);

x+75=111

x=111-75

x=36^oC

Therefore, the temperature on Tuesday is 36°C.
