Since, average weight = (sum of all student's weight)/(number of students)
Therefore, Sum of all weights = 15*18=270 kg
Let the student's weight be x kg
Sum of all weights after he leaves = 270 - x
Average weight = (270 - x)/(18 - 1) = 15 - 0.8
=>270 - x = 241.4
=>x = 28.6 kg

Hope this helps!

the average weightvof 18 students is 15 kg. This means every student seems to have 15 kg. The outgoing dude has 15 kg. And after his departure the remaining 17 have to lose their weight by 0.8 kg. Meaning = 0.8 x 17 = 13.6 kg

so his wight must have been = 15 + 13.6 = 28.6 kg
