.°. 40 = total weight / 25

=> 40*25 = total weight

=> Total weight in tge beginning = 1000

Let the no. of candles removed be ' x '

Hence total weight removed = 50*x = 50x

Average = 37.5

.°. 37.5 = ( 1000 - 50x )

( 25 - x )

=> 37.5 ( 25 - x ) = 1000 - 50x

=> 937.5 - 37.5x = 1000 - 50x

=> 50x - 37.5d = 1000 - 937.5

=> 12.5x = 62.5

=> x = 62.5 / 12.5 = 5
