The back surface of our eyes are called Retina. It's the place where the inverted (upside-down) images of objects are formed after that the image is transmitted to the brain through the optic nerve. While being transmitted the inverted image is again inverted and then is interpreted by the brain. After all these processes we are able to see the object in front of us. All these processes happen in 1/16 of a second.

Hope this helps you!
