We know that work done by gravity is mgh

where

m = mass

g = acceleration due to gravity

h = height

Given,

m = 1 kg

g = 10 m/s^2 or 9.8 m/s^2

h=4 m

Work = 4*10*1 J

=40 J

or if you take g as 9.8 then

Work is 9.8 * 1*4

=39.2 J

The answer is 40 J as no value of g is given and I have taken g to be 10

Hope it helps
