The Iron Throne is being described here by Stannis Baratheon in Game of thrones.

The Iron Throne was the throne on which the Andalusian King, the Rhoynar, and the First Men sat in the Red Keep's Great Hall in King's Landing city. Only their hand may rest on the Iron Throne apart from the monarchs themselves. The Iron Throne was also a metonym for the monarchy governing the Seven Kingdoms and the monarchy's authority.

The Iron Throne

Explanation:

In the story, The Game of Thrones, Stannis Baratheon used the above-mentioned description to describe the Iron throne.

The Iron Throne was the main seat of all the seven kingdoms and was made by Aegon Targaryen I, using the broken and melted swords that he acquired from his enemies.

It is made of more than a thousand such blades and is monstrous, massive and ugly. However, it is still a symbol of conquest made by the ruler.
