Answer: let base and height be 3x and 4x

1/2 *3x*4x =96

or, 6x^2 = 96

or,x^2 =16

or, x= 4

base= 3×4cm=12cm

height=4×4cm=16 cm

Given: ratio of height and base of a triangle = 4:3

           area of given triangle = 72m²

To find : Base and height of triangle

Step by explanation :

Area of a triangle  = 1/2 × base × height

Area = 72

⇒1/2 × base × height =  72

⇒1/2 × 4x × 3x = 72

⇒6x² = 72

⇒x² = 72/6

⇒x² = 12

⇒x = 2√3

∴ Base = 4x                                     Height = 3x

= 4 × 2√3                                        = 3 × 2√3

= 8√3 meters                                  = 6√3 meters

Answer: base = 8√3 meters

             height = 6√3 meters
