Let base=4x , height=7x
Area of triangle=1/2*base*height
126 =1/2*4x*7x
126 = 1/2*28x
126*2 =28x
x=(126*2)/28
=9
therefore,base=4x=4*9=36m
height=7x=7*9=63m

The area of triangle is found by using the formula:
A = 1/2 times base times height
The ratio 4:7 becomes 4x:7x
We need to find x BEFORE we can find the length of the base and height in terms of inches.
The area is 126*2
We now plug and chug.
126 = 1/2 (4x)(7x)
126 = 1/2(28x)
126= 14x
Divide both sides by 2
126/14 = x
x=9
Base =4*9=36
height =7*9=63
