Solution :-

Ratio of base and height

→ 8:5

let the common divisor be "x"

→ Height = 5x

→ Base = 8x

Now as we know the area of triangle:-

→ 1/2 × base × height

→ 1280 = 1/2 × 8x × 5x

→ 1280 = 20x²

→ x² = 64

→ x = 8

Now

Base = 8x = 64

Height = 5x = 40

Answer:

  • Height = 5x = 40
  • Base = 8x = 64

Given:

  • The base and the height of a triangle are in ratio 8:5.
  • The area of the triangle is 1280m Sq.

Need To Find:

  • The height = ?
  • The base = ?

Explanation:

  • Let the Height be 5x
  • And, Base be 8x

  • \huge \mathsf \green {\frac{1}{2} \times b \times h}

\implies \mathsf {1280 = \frac{1}{2} \times 8x \times 5x}

\implies \mathsf { 1280 = 20x^2}

\implies \mathsf {x^2 = 64}

\implies \mathsf {x = 8}

  • Height = 5x = 40
  • Base = 8x = 64
