The base of a parallelogram is one-third its height. If the area is 768 sq.cm, find the base and height.

Answer:

Area of Parallelogram = base * height

A = bh

Here , height = 1/3 * Base

So , Base = 3 * Height

let height = x

Then , A = 768

768 = x*3x

=> 3x^2 = 768

=> x^2 = 256

=> x = \sqrt{256}

      = 16 cm = Height

Base = 3* Height = 16 * 3 = 48 cm
