Solutions :-
Given :
Hypotenuse = h = 50 cm
Base = b = 40 cm
Find the perpendicular :-
By Pythagoras theorem,
h² = p² + b²
=> 50² = p² + 40²
=> 50² - 40² = p²
=> 2500 - 1600 = p²
=> 900 = p²
=> √900 = p = 30
Now,
Find the area of triangle :-
Area of triangle = ½ × base × height
= ½ × 40 × 30
= ½ × 1200
= 600 cm²
Answer : Area of triangle = 600 cm²

Answer:
Step-by-step explanation:
Base of triangle = 40cm
Hypotenuse = 50cm
To find height we use Phythagoras theorem
(H) ^2=(P) ^2+(B) ^2
50^2=(P) ^2+40^2
2500 = (P) ^2+ 1600
400 = (P) ^2
P= 20cm
Now area of triangle = 1/2*base*height
= 1/2*40*20
= 400cm^2
