Answer:

(hypotenuse)^2-(base)^2=(perpendicular)^2

(10)^2-(8)^2=36cm^2

Therefore

(perpendicular)^2=36

perpendicular=6cm

Area of triangle=1/2*base*height

Area of triangle=1/2*8cm*6cm

=24cm^2
