Explanation:

This is a qualitative test for detecting the organic halides.

To conduct the test,a copper wire is required and placed in front of Bunsen burner flame to burn off the impurities.

Then the wire is dipped into the sample which is to be tested.

If the color of the flame does't produce green color then the copper wire is removed which means halide is not present.

If the green flame appears,it gives positive signal that the presence of halogen compound.
