Consider this simple CircuitLab sketch of a circuit (a current source):

I'm not sure how to calculate the power dissipation across the transistor.

I'm taking a class in electronics and have the following equation in my notes (not sure if it helps):

So the power dissipation is the power dissipation across the collector and emitter, the power dissipation across the base and emitter and a mystery factor −. Note that the β of the transistor in this example was set to 50.

I'm quite confused overall and the many questions here on transistors have been very helpful.
