Concept: Probability is the study of the chances of events happening.

Required probability = Number of trials in which the event happens/Total number of trials

Given: The blood groups of 30 students of class iX are recorded as follows :

A, B, O, O, AB, O, A, O, B, A, O, B, A, O, O

A, AB, O, A, A, O, O, AB, B, A, O, B, A , B, O

Total numbers of students = 30

(i) Numbers of students having blood group A = 9

Required probability,P(A) = 9/30 = 3/10

P(blood group A) = 3/10 = 0.3

(ii) Numbers of students having blood group B = 6

Required probability,P(B) = 6/30 = 2/10

P(blood group B) = 2/10 = 0.2

(iii) Numbers of students having blood group AB = 3

Required probability,P(AB) = 3/30 = 1/10

P(blood group AB) = 1/10 = 0.1

(iv) Numbers of students having blood group O = 12

Required probability,P(O) = 12/30 = 4/10

P(blood group O) = 4/10 = 0.4
