The boat goes 25 km up stream and 33km down stream in 8 hours it can also go 40 km upstream and 77km down stream in 15 hours .Find speed of the boat in still and stream water.

25 + 33 barabar 16 in 28 14 + 77 b is equal to 15 into 10 and on subtracting both of them we will get b is equal to 1 by 11 putting the value in any question we will get is equal to 1 by 5 and for the solving it we will get equation x minus Y is equal to 5 8 15 and X + Y is equal to 11 so then solving it we will get ex barabar at and putting in any question we will get is equal Y is equal to 3

solve equation 3 and 4 and put the values in your assumption of a and b to get 1/x-y and 1/x+y and thus you will get x and Y
