Step-by-step explanation:

Given ,

temperature rises 4° per minute

to find,

a) temp. of water after 10 minutes

initial temperature = 36°C

Rate of increase = 4°/ minute

Time = 10 minute

Final temperature =

36°+(4×10)

= 36°+40°

=76°C

b) time taken for water to boil

Final temperature = 100° ( required for water to boil)

Initial temperature= 36°

Rate of increase = 4°/ minute

final tempt. = initial temperature + (rate × time)

You will find after deriving formulae that

time =( initial + final )/rate of change

time taken = (100+36)/4

= 136/4

= 34

there fore time = 34 minutes
