books were inmate friends of Helen Keller and they are to every human as well.As for Helen ,books were the only thing that entertained her and enhanced her knowledge at the same time. She read many many books and also in her biography has explained her views on each of them. Books were the only ones who explored different aspects of life to the blind deaf Helen . When she had recently started reading ,she read just for the sake of reading or just to learn new words. but when she started to not just read them but understand them, only then could she realised the importance of books. Helen read little lord Fauntleroy understandingly .She exclaims that it was her sweet and gentle companion through her childhood .Helens mind was opened naturally and joyously when she was in the company of books. Reading books made her familiar to many languages like French English German and also she became friendly with writers..
hence books were like a path that helped her reach success doors of knowledge...
hope it helps
