The boom in the construction industry, with every
middle-class house boasting of marble floors and granite
counters, has led to depletion of stone resources. Draft
a Bill or write an article for the local newspaper keeping
in mind the following:
\bullet protecting forest lands from quarrying and mining
\bullet protecting the rights of the craftsmen to access the
stone
\bullet suggesting alternative materials to replace stone in
buildings.

Explanation:

Excessive extraction of natural stones and minerals has become a threat for the sustainable development and conservation of natural resources.

There is lack of legislation to limit the extraction of natural resources like marble, limestone etc. There must be something done in this regard to limit the extraction to a safe level which is in the carrying capacity of nature. Natural must be given sufficient time to recover itself.

On the other hand, it is not possible to completely eliminate something. We need to work for the alternatives. On of the best alternative to natural stone is the man made material like bricks. Their must be sufficient production and variety of man made material to avoid excessive extraction of stones.
