The bottom of a tank or a pond containing water appears to be raised ? give reason.

Anonymous: due to refraction of light
Ishan20021: explain in brief
Anonymous: as we know that the speed of light changes while going thru mediums then when the light travels from water (optically dencer medium) to air (optically rarer medium) it slightly bends which is called refraction and due to this the pond looks a less deeper than it actually is
Ishan20021: thanks... Rohit...
Anonymous: you are welcome ^_^
