let the present age of father be 'x'.and prsent age of son be 'y'.So ,
acc.to ques.
1/4 of x = y eqn.1
24 years later
24+1/2 of x=y eqn.2

ASSUME,that the present age of father be x, And the present age of son be y,.
BTP,
x/4 = y .........(1)
After 24 years,
Present age of father ( x + 24) , Present age of son (y +24)
BTP,
( x+24) / (y+24) = 2/1
(x+24) = (2y+ 48)
On dividing b/s by 4
or, (x/4)+6=(y/2)+12
or, y/2 = 6
THEREFORE, y=12
Present age of son is 12
PRESENT AGE OF FATHER =4y=48.
