The boys and girls in a school were in the ratio 5 is to 7.Total students are 1344.

Hence 5x+7x=1344

x=112

Hence boys = 5x = 5*112 = 560

and girls = 7x = 784

given girls increased by 16.Hence girls became 800

let x be the no.of boys increased.hence 560+x is total count of boys.New ratio became 3:4

Hence (560+x)/800=3/4

from this we get x=40 i.e., 40 new boys have been admitted
