The breadth of a rectangle is twice its length. the perimeter of the rectangle is 48m. Assuming the length of the rectangle as y meters, write the equation for the same .​

Answer:

Length of rectangle = y meters

Breadth of rectangle = 2 y

Perimeter of rectangle = 48 m

∴ Equation = 2 ( y + 2y) = 48 m

= 2 ( 3y) = 48 m

6y = 48 m

y = 48/6

y = 8 m

∴ Length of rectangle = 8 m

∴ Breadth of rectangle = 2 x 8 = 16 m
