Explanation-:

Perimeter of a rectangle-:

“P = 2(l+b)”

P = Perimeter

L = length

B = breadth

_______________________________

Given ,

Perimeter of rectangular plot is 80 m

Breadth of rectangular for one third of

length.

To find ,

Length of a rectangular plot

_____________________________

Now ,

Let the length of the rectangular plot

be x

So ,

Breadth = 1/3 x

We know that ,

Formula of Perimeter of a rectangle-:

“P = 2(l+b)”

P = Perimeter = 80 m

L = length = x m

B = breadth = 1x/3 m

Now ,

2( x +1x/3 ) = 80

= 2 x + 2x/3 = 80

= 6x/3 + 2x /3 = 80

= 8x / 3 = 80

= 8x = 80 x 3

= 8x = 240

= x = 240/8

= X = 30

Therefore,

Length of rectangular plot -: 30 m

Breadth of rectangular plot -:1x/3 =

30/3

= 10 m

Hence ,

The breadth of rectangular plot is 10 m
