Commonly the word MERRY means CHEERFUL 

We would have heard "Merry Christmas" so often na..So, Merry means lively or Cheerful or Happy

But in this given prose it can be defined as follows : 

Merry din : The Song / Music played in the wedding that is merged with the sounds made my the cheerful guests at the wedding part.
