Answer:The Britishers forcibly asked the Indian farmers to grow crops which the wanted to fulfill their requirements or for commercial use. Examples of some of those are:

Indigo: Indigo was a cloth dye which was used to dye clothes in blue colour and the british people needed it in great demand so they forced indian farmers to grow it.

Tea and coffee: just because the britishers wanted them for commercial use the forced indian farmers to grow it.

All such crops were made grown forcibly and this left the farmers without enough food for their family and resulted in starvation. If indian farmers denied to work for them their land was seized and they were even tortured by british officials
