Answer:

Assume total journey was of x kms . So from 1 kms it charges 50 and then for rest x-1, 25

So total fare

y = 50 \times 1 + 25 \times (x - 1) \\ y =25 x + 25

Now just put value of y (total fare )

Answer:

Lets assume the number of KMs driven by the Cab be 'x';

Since, 1st KM charge is Rs. 50, and Rs. 25 for subsequent KMs, the linear equation can be written as -

Price = 50 + 25 * (x-1)

Now, considering your information -

First Case -

670 = 50 + 25 * (x-1)

620 = 25x - 25

645 = 25x

x = 645 / 25

x = 25.8 KM

Second Case -

970 = 50 + 25 * (x-1)

920 = 25x - 25

945 = 25x

x = 945 / 25

x = 37.8 KM

Third Case -

900 = 50 + 25 * (x-1)

850 = 25x - 25

875 = 25x

x = 875/25

x = 35 KM
