The captain of a cricket team of 11 members is 26 years old and the wicket keeper is 3 years older. If the ages of these two are excluded, the average age of the remaining players is one year less than the average age of the whole team. What is the average age of the team?

Let the average age of the whole team by x years.

So, as per given data, total no.of players are 11.

If we excluded the age of wicket keeper and captain = 11x - 26+29 =11x - 54

Remaining 9 players are one year less than the average of the whole team = 9(x-1)

 i.e., 11x - (54) = 9(x -1)

        11x - 9x = 54-9

        2x = 46

          x = 23.

Therefore, the average age of the team = 23 years
