The catalogue price of the article is 20000.
First the dealer allows a discount of 15% on the article.
Amount of discount=20000×15/100=3000
Then the selling price is: (20000-3000)=17000.
Then the dealer allows a discount of 10% again.
Amount of discount=17000×10/100=1700
∴, selling price=(17000-1700)=15300
He further allows an off-season discount of 10%.
Amount of discount=15300×10/100=1530
∴, selling price=(15300-1530)=13770
Now, 10% sales tax is charged on the selling price.
∴, Amount of sales tax=13770×10/100=1377
∴, the final selling price=13770+1377=15147
∴, (i) the amount of sales tax a customer has to pay is Rs. 1377
and (ii) the final price that customer has to pay for the article is Rs. 15147.
