I think it's answer is option A because of propulsion. Propulsion is s force which helps a body to move forward. Means, if it moved forward then it's velocity will increase

Answer:

a) Increase the velocity

The caudal or tail fin in fish and pigeon is used to increase the velocity.

Explanation:

The caudal fin has two main roles that it plays:

  1. Is the fin that is used in propulsion - the forward movement of the fish.
  2. The caudal fin also provides stability for the fish or bird as it propels.
  • The degree of stability provided by the caudal fin depends on the shape of the caudal fin.

Other fins and their functions:

Dorsal fin - this fin is used for stability, attracting mates and for defense

Pectoral fin - this is is for counteracting the flow.

Pelvic fin - Stabilizer

Anal fin - stabilizer
