The cells of onion peel and RBC will swell up as water moves from hypotonic to hypertonic and the medium is hypotonic and the solution inside the cells are hypertonic so the cells will swell up.

If the cells of onion peel and RBCs are separately kept in hypotonic solution, both the cells will swell. RBCs will burst easily while cells of onion peel will resist the bursting to some extent. ... Thus, RBCs will burst as there is no mechanism to restrict the entry of water into them
