The cellular role for the long microtubule in a  plant cell is

   A) Protein synthesis.   This is probably the answer.

Microtubules are components of plant cells. They are organized in arrays. Structural proteins called MAP  Microtubule associated Proteins control the growth and organization of Microtubules in these arrays.

MTs have multiple roles in the Cell at various stages in the life cycle of a cell.  MTs participate in cell division, Cell communication and Protein synthesis.
