The cheetah is the fastest land animal and can achieve a peak velocity of 100km/h up to distance less than 500 m. If a cheetah spots its prey at a distance of 100 m, what is the minimum time it will take to get its prey, if the average velocity attained by it is 90 km/h

A cheetah is the fastest land animal and it can achieve a peak velocity of 100 km per hour up to distances less less than 500 metres.

We can write 100 km as 27.78 m/s.   [100x1000/60x60]

We know,

Formula to calculate speed:

Speed (v) = Ditance/time (d/t)

∴ Time = Distance/Speed (d/v)

           = 100/27.78

           = 3.6 s

∴ The minimum time it will take to get it's prey is 3.6 second.
