Given:

  • The circumference of the circle = 176 cm

To Find:

  • The radius and the diameter of the circle.

Solution:

We know that,

Circumference = 2πr

Where "r" is the radius.

Rearrange the above formula in the form of radius.

⇒ r = circumference/2π → {equation 1}

On substituting the given values in equation 1 we get,

r = 176/2×(22/7) = 176×7/2×22 {taking 7 to the numerator and multiplying the terms}

⇒ r = 1232/44 {dividing the terms}

⇒ r = 28 cm

We know that,

Diameter = 2×radius→ {equation 2}

On substituting the value of "r" in equation 2 we get,

⇒ D = 2×28 = 56 cm {multiplying the terms}

∴ The diameter of the circle = 56 cm and the radius of the circle = 28 cm.
