Let the radius of the conical tent be r m.
Given, circumference = 44m.
Circumference = 2 πr
Therefore, 2*π * r = 44 → r = 44/2π = 7m
Slant height, l = √(r^2+h^2) = √(7^2+10^2)=√149 m
Curved surface area of the tent = πrl = π *7* √149 = 22√149 m^2
Given, width =12m
Thus, 22√149 = 12*l
Hence, the required length of the canvas, l = 22*√149/12 = 22.4m
