the circumference of the base of a right circular cylinder is 220 cm. if the height of the cylinder is 2 m, find the lateral surface area of the cylinder.
its urgent !

SidDevkota: is it 2 m or 2cm

Circumference of the circle = 220 cm
 height = 2 m = 2 × 100 = 200

Lateral surface area of the cylinder = circumference × h
                                                        = 2πr × h
                                                        = 2πrh
                                                        = 220 ×200
                                                        = 44000cm²

Answer:

22334.3345 sq.cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Circumference = 2 \pi r

The circumference of the base of a right circular cylinder is 220 cm.

So, 220=2 \times \frac{22}{7} \times r

\frac{220}{2 \times  \frac{22}{7}} = r

35 = r

Thus the radius of the cylinder is 35 cm

Height of the cylinder = 2 m = 200 cm

Lateral surface are of cylinder = \pi r \sqrt{h^2+r^2}

                                                  = \frac{22}{7} (35) \sqrt{200^2+35^2}

                                                  =22334.3345 sq.cm.

Hence the lateral surface area of cylinder is 22334.3345 sq.cm.
