Answer: class width = 20

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : marks- 100, 110, 120, 130, 140, 150, 160.

To find: class marks of given distribution

The given marks have to be divided in class intervals so as to represent them in an equal and appropriate manner in order to organise the data better.

The given numbers can be formed into equal class intervals of 20 such that,

100-120, 120-140 and 140-160. This data represents a continuous data.

As we know class interval= upper limit - lower limit

120 - 100 = 20

where 120 is the upper limit 100 is lower limit and 20 is class interval

140 - 120 = 20

where 140 is upper limit 120 is lower limit and 20 is class interval

160 - 140 = 20

where 160 is upper limit 140 is lower limit and 20 is class interval

Thus the class width for the given distribution is 20.

Hence, class width = 20
