Question-

Find the cloth require to cover the hemispherical dome if the radius of its base is 14m

Solution -

Given,

radius(r) = 14m

We know that,

curved \: surface \: area \: of \: hemisphere = 2\pi {r}^{2}

Curved \: surface \: area = 2 \times  \frac{22}{7}  \times ( {14})^{2}

Curved \: surface \: area = 2 \times  \frac{22}{7}  \times 14 \times 14

Curved \: \:  surface \: \:  area = 1232

Therefore the required cloth to cover the hemispherical dome is 1232m²

Related Formulae -

1)Curved \: surface \: area \:  \\ of \: hemisphere = 2\pi {r}^{2}

2)total \: surface \: area \: of \\  \: hemisphere = 3\pi {r}^{2}

3)volume \: of \: hemisphere =  \frac{2}{3} \pi {r}^{3}

4)surface \: area \: of \: sphere = 4\pi {r}^{2}

5)volume \: of \: sphere =  \frac{4}{3} \pi {r}^{3}
