It is given that coefficient of cubical expansion,
Gamma = 7.2×10^-5 ° C^-1

Also we know that

Gamma = 2×( coefficient of superficial expansion)
= 2Beta

.°. Beta = gamma/2

= 7.2×10^-5/2

= 3.6×10^-5 °C^-1

Given,

γ = 7.2×10^-5 ° C^-1

We know,

γ = 2β
Then,
β = γ/2
β = 7.2×10^-5/2
β = 3.6×10^-5 °C^-1
