By this  X× 3y × 2 and  × 4y      

                6xy        and   4xy  

The factor of 6xy are  1, 2, 3, 6 ,x , y  

The factor  of 4xy  are 1 , 2 , 4 , x , y  

        Therefore the common factor in both  are 1 , 2 x and y.
